ok, who is this guy and what's so important about him? . . . well I'm a 31
year old database engineer who pretty much hates being a software engineer
(although it turns out, I'm pretty damn good at it, especially in the
database area) . . . I graduated from Cal
Poly several years ago where I picked up my Bachelor's in Computer
Science and a Minor in Business . . . I plan on one day going back to get
a business degree . . . I've worked in computers since June 1996 when I went to work for ITT Defense down in Vandenberg Air Force Base . . . in 1999 I left ITT to work closer to my home and to get away from government contracts . . . After working for a variety of start ups - Surveyor Corporation (yea webcams), Americom USA (yea online advertising), and Com Dev Broadband (yea wireless internet), I ended up back at ITT in March 2003 because almost every software company in my town collapsed (yea California economy) . . . then I went down to east LA (despite living in SLO still) to work for ITT on the JPL Deep Space Network Contract (that Mars Rover thingie) . . . most recently, I've taken a job as a Network Engineer at Charter back in SLO . . . I've also done a variety of contracting for several small companies throughout my area . . . I currently live in beautiful San Luis Obispo, located about halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles . . . I've been here for several years and lived in Santa Maria before that during my high school years . . . I'm originally from New Jersey and although I miss it a lot, I could never go back as I can't leave the perfect weather that SLO has . . . although I do miss the people, the culture, the food, and a lot of things about NJ . . . I hide my accent a lot (mostly subconsciously), but if you get me pissed or slightly drunk the words come flowing out again along with the accent . . . so I wear sneakers instead of tennis shoes and I eat pizza pies? . . . I'm 5'6" (5'7" on a good day), have jet black hair, hazel eyes, slightly crooked nose, weigh about 150 pounds . . . I'm a full blooded Italian boy, not one of those mutts that all the rest of the Californians are . . . and I can actually cook some of the dishes and understand some of the words (as long as they're swear words or some other nasty term) . . . my favorite color is RED . . . my favorite type of food is obviously Italian followed closely be seafood . . . my favorite actors would have to be Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino and Bruce Campbell . . . although I also really like a bunch of the old actors such as Humphrey Bogart, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorey, and Frank Sinatra . . . my favorite actresses ironically change all the time, but probably include: Kristen Bell, Sarah Carter, Alison Mack, Marissa Tomei, Rachel Leigh Cook, and Mira Sovino . . . I'm slightly an alcoholic, I guess, at least by some governmental standards and I have a passion for fine wines and good beers . . . I go wine tasting in limos once every three or four months . . . and currently have over 270 bottles in my "cellar" . . . I drink only certain brands of beers and included amongst that list is Harp, Bass, Red Hook, Spaten, etc. . . I also enjoy a good cider from time to time, as well as a lambic . . . life is too short to drink cheap beer, and even if life were longer, why would you still want to waste your time on cheap alcohol? . . . . . . I'm involved in three organizations currently . . . PolyCon (a gaming convention), Hounds Haven (a rennaisance guild), and Rocky Horror Picture Show (I'm one of the three Producers and the Head of Security - don't laugh, a short Italian will scare just about anyone - and also occasionally play the role of Dr. Scott and even once in awhile Eddie) . . . . . . my sign is Aries . . . yes, I am egotistical and power-hungry . . . the stars were right . . . I am a fan of Swing music . . . I own over twenty-five non-baseball hats . . . including several derbys, one top hat, a mad-hatter's hat, four fedoras, and one cat-in-the-hat hat . . . I am also a fan of Classic Rock, Ska, Jazz, and 80's music . . . I like mobster movies and old Bogart movies . . . Casablanca is my favorite . . . I dislike drastic changes in the weather (I have neck, shoulder, and back problems) . . . I can tell about a day in advance when the weather is going to change . . . I like Jelly Belly's, Crunch Bars, Kit-Kats, and Hershey Kisses (not that I object to any other kind of Kiss) . . . . . . I like to dance, drink, and party . . . I like to socialize . . . I dislike not knowing anyone at the places I go . . . I drive a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT Convertible . . . it's a pearl color . . . I like the beach (especially sunsets on it), the Florida Keys, Dodge Daytonas (turbo powered), convertibles, chocolate eclairs, giving flowers, truffles, dogs (not cats), coke (not pepsi), red wine (and also white) . . . I also like throwing parties (I throw a giant party once a year - my Annual-1st-weekend-in-March party attracts a lot of attention), playing pool (although I'm really not any good - well not until you get several drinks in me), nice cool clear evenings, bonfires on the beach, hot tubs, boardwalks, writing stories, run on sentances, putting three little dots all over the place . . . and squids . . . . . .
