7th Sea
Disney Royalty vs. Ninjas (A Shrek Adventure)
Gamemaster: Bob Johnston
Time: Friday 13:00
Length: 6 Hours
Location: Chumash Foyer

That's right the Royal Shrek Family has been kidnapped by Ninjas! It's up to you, the (Shrekified) Fairy Tale Royalty of Disney to rescue them. Fortunately, just after the Shrek babies' first birthday party you had been meeting about Arthie's (Shrek 3) training to become king of Far Far Away when the news of the abduction reached you. So your royal highnesses; Princess & Prince: Ariel & Eric (Little Mermaid), Aurora "Briar Rose" & Phillip (Sleeping Beauty), Belle & Adam (Beauty and the Beast), Cinderella, Gisell and Edward (Enchanted), Jasmine & Aladdin, Snow White, Tiana & Naveen (the Princess & the Frog), Stefan (Rapunzel) - along with all their Magic and Animal sidekicks; decide who is going on this kingdom shattering rescue. The episode that was never supposed to be revealed, this will be a kick-ninja-butt and stop the evil Mastermind(s) Finale of the Shrek Movie Series.

Rules have been bent (twisted, stomped on & shredded), Preposterous Sorceries created, Heroes totally disfunctionalized for your playing amusement.

All this is of course based on the gloriously Romantic, awesomely swashbuckling world of the 7th Sea RPG! Those who come in any costume (Other than street clothes) will be handsomely rewarded within the system.

Of course an adventure of this magnitude and scope will require players with either a total thirst for the bizarre and the absurd, a moderate understanding of 7th Sea or a better than passing knowledge of Shrek (seen 3 of the 4 movies or seen 2 of them within the last 9 months)! The simple and basic rules of this system will be quickly reviewed for everyone's illumination. Come enjoy the mental meltdown with your friends

      Length: 4 Hours
      Location: RPG 6

        -Then-

In the early morning of time, when the world was yet young and the race of men still new to the lands there came into being the Legendary Dragon Polyzanthius, he who was to become the spirit of adventure. The unspoken yet masterful, the feared yet revered, and the hoarder of coin and yet the symbol of honor, courage, and the daring. The Legendary Dragon spurred the want for adventure among the many races of the land and while most ended in violence or demise those who were successful were sung of and famed heaped upon their names.

And so it came to be that all who claimed adventure as their sport were eventually drawn to the facing of a dragon in the course of time. And the Legendary Dragon was most pleased; the tests of men also tested its own kin and the hoards of many dragons were bolstered by the foolhardy while the weaker or more foolish dragons fell to the sword and spells of the lesser races.

But in time the items of some hoards were noted to be of a most malign potency and so Polyzanthius drew all such items from its brethren and sealed them away in the Holy Mountain where it had first come to the world. And to four clans of farmers who lived in the lands around the mountain it entrusted the four keys which would break the seals to this most dire hoard for it was these four clans who would pay the most should the treasures ever be released. To keep both themselves and the world safe these simple farmers trained themselves into four clans of ninjas of extraordinary abilities.

        -Now-

The head Ninja Masters of the four great clans have recently been slain by unusual assailants and the four keys, so long safeguarded by them, stolen! It now falls to the students who have come to train in the ways of stealth and shadow to track down the criminals and recover the keys before it is too late.

      Gamemaster: Robert Chesebrough
      Time: Friday 19:00

Boldly leap into the roles of the various students who have rallied to the cry of adventure and sworn to recover the keys or die in the attempt.

      Eclipse Phase
      Gamemaster: Jason Hall
      Time: Saturday 14:00
      Length: 4 Hours
      Location: RPG 1 (UU 221)

Eclipse Phase is a game set in the far future where humanity has begun to colonize the galaxy, has shed their original bodies, developed some psychic powers, and have uplifted the rest of the animals from their home planet to levels of human intelligence. In Eclipse Phase there are two main parts to a character, the ego and the morph. The morph is the body of a character, people are free to change their morphs at almost any time, changing from the body of an amphibious octopus to that of a sentient nanoswarm or even physically enhanced basic human bodies. The ego is the mental part of a character, this will stay the same no matter how many times they change morph. You are all members of a secret organization known as Firewall, they act to protect humanity at large from the shadows. You have recently received an invitation from Firewall to a newly released simspace art game. Being as this was an invitation from Firewall you know that there must be some kind of message hidden within the game, so you begin exploring it. After a short while of exploring you find some of the art pieces contain your code names, these pieces lead you to a room controlled by the eye - the code name for Firewall - in which you see Leonardo da Vinci finishing the painting of the Mona Lisa and then turning towards you. He says "Good evening, gentlebeings. We have something that needs to be investigated. Five months ago, on January 6, a series of detectors on Higg's Landing Station above Thoroughgood detected a stray gamma photon signature compatible with the passage of an antimatter warhead. We did not become aware of this until very recently, when an independent investigation happened to scan the data. A small search suggested that the warhead was among the luggage carried onto shuttle TDX503 Landau Landau, bound for Phelan's Recourse. The investigation even managed to get some scanning data from the security checkpoint, which confirmed the presence of the warhead - and what looks like a quantum entanglement trigger. This set off our warning bells: why would anybody complicate things by setting up a FTL trigger? And while the cost of the entanglement is small by the standards of the warhead, it also might provide a trail to the originators in a way that merely anonymized mesh communications would not do. Some further intel (that we are not at liberty to divulge) also hint that this shipment may be of Firewall interest. It is an old and somewhat cold trace, but we think there is something important here. We want to find out where the warhead went, who is behind it and what they intend to do with it. If they are up to no good with it, feel free to stop them. Good luck.” Maestro gives the sentinels the 2053 Oxford University Press facsimile of Leonardo’s collected notebooks, containing the security scan data, the imagery of the warhead, the schedule of the shuttle etc. steganographically hidden in the pictures.

      Time: Friday 16:00
      Length: 4 Hours
      Location: RPG 7 (UU 208)

We humans have a special way of pulling ourselves up and kicking ourselves down at the same time. We’d achieved more progress than ever before, at the cost of wrecking our planet and destabilizing our own governments. But things were starting to look up. With exponentially accelerating technologies, we reached out into the solar system. We re-forged our bodies and minds, casting off sickness and death. We achieved immortality through the digitization of our minds, resleeving from one biological or synthetic body to the next at will. We uplifted animals and AIs to be our equals. We acquired the means to build anything we desired from the molecular level up, so that no one need want again. Yet our race toward extinction was not slowed, and in fact received a machine-assist over the precipice. Billions died as our technologies rapidly bloomed into something beyond control … further transforming humanity into something else, scattering us throughout the solar system, and reigniting vicious conflicts. Nuclear strikes, biowarfare plagues, nanoswarms, mass uploads … a thousand horrors nearly wiped humanity from existence. We still survive, divided into a patchwork of restrictive inner system hypercorp-backed oligarchies and libertarian outer system collectivist habitats, tribal networks, and new experimental societal models. We have spread to the outer reaches of the solar system and even gained footholds in the galaxy beyond. But we are no longer solely “human” … we have evolved into something simultaneously more and different— something transhuman. An Introductory adventure to Eclipse Phase, Mind the WMD has the players taking the role of Firewall agent sassembled as a team for an operation. Your job is to investigate rumors that a black market weapons dealer is offering some sort of devastating weapons technology for sale. If the goods are deemed to pose an existential risk, they are to beacquired or destroyed by any means necessary. **Player Expertise- Beginner

Great fun for a big group.

                Location: Pit C

You are specialists at the CDC/Atlanta where you watch several virulent diseases break out simultaneously all over the world. The team mission is to prevent a world-wide pandemic outbreak, treating hotspots while researching cures for each of the four plagues before they get out of hand. Players must plan their strategy to mesh their specialist's strengths before the diseases overwhelm the world. For example, the Operations Specialist can build research stations, which are needed to find cures for the diseases. The Scientist needs only 4 cards of a particular disease to cure it instead of the normal 5. But the diseases are breaking out fast and time is running out: the team must try to stem the tide of infection in diseased areas while developing cures. If disease spreads uncontrolled, the players all lose. If they can cure all four diseases, they win.

Pygmy Disaster is the latest installment from Team Pygmy. Each year at Polycon we attempt to outdo ourselves with the biggest and most detailed board game that we can put together. This year's version sees our Pygmy heroes working in teams of two to stop four of the most destructive environmental disasters to ever befall our miniature world. Miniature is somewhat ironic for Team Pygmy as this year's board is larger than ever with 160 square feet of table space for our game. Much of our terrain has been redesigned by the whole team including Polycon's own Bob Schrempp. Our castles are better, our towns are bigger and our world is the most detailed effort yet. In addition, all of our cards have been redesigned by Scott Zumwalt. Scott also worked on Pygmy Disaster's custom dice. We will be running 3 sessions this year at 3 hours each and it is our hope that everyone gets a chance to join us. Come see us at Polycon, you can't possibly miss us, we're huge!

The natives say a trio of witches were discovered working dark sorcery in the land of Ograpog. The three were tried, sentenced by King Amemnus himself, and drowned with the rising tide. But with their dying breath the sisters uttered a dark curse, drowning Caribdus beneath fifty fathoms of water. Soon after, ships from another world drifted through the mists of earth and into the “Thousand Isles.” The visitors are sailors from the age of piracy, dashing corsairs, bloodthirsty buccaneers, or savage sea dogs. They’ve taken to this new world and now sail alongside its strange inhabitants—crab-like scurillians, massive grael, lonely doreen, mysterious kraken, cruel kehana, and the near-human masaquani. Returning home from months of fruitful pillaging, your hold bursting with ill gotten booty, your crew is attacked in the dead of night by the fearsome Black Scorpion clan! Can you fight them off in a daring ship-to-ship battle and escape with your loot? Or even with your lives?

These creatures are the werewolves, vampires, and other horrors that populate the peasant folklore and popular gothic stories of the Victorian age, and that stalk the earth preying on humanity. The Rippers are human, but they are far from helpless prey. Some wield arcane biotechnology “ripped” from the very creatures they hunt. Others invest in the latest technology—incredible devices of iron and steel powered either by steam or, more recently, by electricity. Still others practice ancient magic, or perform miracles. A rare few rely on nothing more than their own cunning and courage. Rumors have been stirring that the cabal may be attempting to form an alliance with the ancient horrors of the Orient! Your team must get to the bottom of these rumors, and make sure these two powerful forces can not join together, or the Rippers may be doomed!

You’re a shadowrunner—a deniable asset, a corporate pawn—using bleeding-edge science and magic to make your meat body and mind better than-flesh. Stay on the edge, and you may survive another ‘run on the mean sprawl streets. Sometimes, a run doesn't go as planned. Karl Gahley has agreed to turn over evidence that reveals his backers in the destruction of the UCAS owned Brooklyn Bridge. Of course, since he hatched and executed the demolition himself, the story that he will share with the authorities must be entirely fabricated in an attempt to avoid a lengthy prison sentence. Ms. Johnson wishes to be sure that the names that Gahley plans to provide would be beneficial to her aims. **Game Level- 400 BP Shadowrun Missions Legal Characters - see http://www.shadowrun4.com/missions/players.shtml and http://www.shadowrun4.com/missions/srm_faq.shtml **Player Expertise- Any Level, from new players to Prime Runners
