    The United Terran Forces (UTF) has received a distress signal from space and a reconnaissance ship has been dispatched to intercept. Unfortunately for the pilots of the UTF vessel, it is a trap. Your characters are members of a top-secret elite strike force, known as the Covert Assault Team (CAT), that is about to embark on its very first mission – to investigate the source of the distress signal and prevent the UTF ship from flying into a ambush. The covert nature of the team requires that secrecy be maintained to as great a degree as possible. Regardless, the characters will need to be prepared for anything and must ensure the success of the mission. Fortunately, your characters are not ordinary members of a military strike team - they are enhanced in numerous ways beyond the limits of normal individuals. That’s a good thing because they will need all of their extraordinary skills and abilities to survive this first real test of their capabilities.

Ingenuity, perception, and quick thinking will be required to make sense of the story that the characters will get entangled in. As with any Andromeda 2500 adventure, however, it is a good idea to keep a weapon close at hand – even if that weapon is you!

    A commercial survey team has discovered a pre-heresy cruiser floating in a stellar nebula. The ship's turrets are apparently still active as powered scanning drones were destroyed on approach. The survey ship was able to get close enough to send over a boarding party. Five hours ago, a core breach on the survey ship forced an evacuation and distress call. You have been given command of a detachment and tasked with capturing this vessel with boarding parties or preventing its capture by any other faction. Between 3 and 6 players of any skill level are welcome. You must provide your own figures and fleet designs of 1500 and 1000 points at the start of the game. This game will have a maximum fleet point value of 6000 points, i.e. everyone in a 5 or 6 player game will command a 1000 point fleet.

The action in Battlestations is literally character driven. If you want the ship to turn or speed up, a character has to take an action to make it so. If you want the ship’s guns to fire at an enemy ship, a character has to take an action to fire the guns.

    Gritting his teeth against the stabbing pain, the wood elf with decorative facial tattoos heaved the body of the half-elven lass over his right shoulder. Her bejeweled hand swung limply in response to his movements. Quickly, yet with care, he scooped up the bundle resting on the muddy floor with his other arm and cast a final gaze at the carnage before limping out of the cave. As he plodded through the muck, he could feel warm blood running down the side of his torso and down his leg as the strain of the unbalanced load put pressure on his grievous wounds. Agents of all the great powers are converging in the city to attempt to gain the power for themselves. The Mafia, the Yakuza, the Triads, the Chinese Army, the CIA, the FBI, Al Qaeda, INTERPOL, the Roman Catholic Church, and the New York Yankees are all here. Maybe you want to seize the Orbs for your faction. Maybe you'd settle for a fat wad of cash. Maybe you want one of the other powerful arifacts passing through the city, such as the legendary Head of Vecna. Maybe all you really want is a Klondike Bar.           The SGC has only been in operation for a few months and is now facing possibly its biggest loss with the disappearance of SG-1. Apparently they are caught in some deadly trap! It is up to your team to unearth the requirements to save them. Unfortunately, the SGC is not even sure where they are. General Hammond is sending out the only thing he has available your new team. You'll be briefed, geared up (depending on recon), and sent out for your first time. There is one little hitch. General Hammond only has 24 hours to complete this mission before the Pentagon will require him to recall all teams. He has given you the command to report back every 4 to 6 hours with your progress. He hopes your mission will not exceed 12 hours. He will recall your team in the event of casualties. If your mission will exceed 12 hours he will then decide whether you should continue. Good Luck, the fate of SG-1 and possibly the SGC rests in your hands. We'll keep a candle burning.

          Game will pause for an hour so participants can attend the PolyCon BBQ.
